What is the basis of a bird record?

Güvercin Yeri brings race data together by ring number and helps users assess it alongside pedigree documents. Not every piece of information on the platform is based on the same type of evidence. The source, date and the bird's identity should be checked together.

Race results

Güvercin Yeri aims to bring all One Loft Race (OLR) race sources worldwide together on one platform. It regularly collects and updates race results and brings them together by ring number so you can follow birds' performance history. Live race discovery and historical race import are separate processes.

Where available in the records, placing, arrival time, speed, race date and distance are shown. The source of the imported information can be reviewed on the relevant bird and race screen. Information on our site may lag for a while because of a correction at the source or new results arriving. Compare results critical to your assessment with the source page.

A ring's country code identifies the bird's ring; on its own it does not indicate the country where the race was held. Likewise, a race placing does not by itself indicate whether it was a training flight or a final. Assess these fields separately.

Pedigree documents uploaded by users

The parent and ancestor links on a pedigree document are lineage information provided by the person who uploaded the document. Do not interpret them as independent verification of race results. Different parentage declarations may exist in more than one document; the original document and link positions should be reviewed.

The scan output is a draft that must be checked. Unreadable letters, cut-off boxes and similar-looking ring numbers can lead to wrong matches. The uploading user can leave unreadable information blank or correct it from their own document editing screen. Filling in missing ring numbers as if they were real reduces reliability.

Summaries and analyses

Placing, distance and date summaries are calculated from recorded data. If source coverage is incomplete, these summaries may not represent the bird's entire career. AI-assisted explanations are also based on the records provided; they are not an independent lineage registration or a guarantee of future race success.

A bird's own success, its ancestor's success and its offspring's success should be kept separate. Similarities among birds of the same family are not, on their own, a genetic cause or definite proof of success.

When you see an incorrect record

For a review, prepare together the bird's ring number, the link to the relevant page, the race name and date, the incorrect field and the source or document showing the correct information. Do not include personal account details or passwords in the document.

Correcting the ring number of your own bird and an error in an external race record are different operations. For your own bird you can use the profile's correction tools. For information in a source race, you may also need to contact the source provider. Deleting and recreating a bird does not replace checking the evidence.
