Applications are open for the Royal Pigeon Racing Association (RPRA) 2026 National Awards. The RPRA is one of the national bodies that regulates pigeon racing activity in the United Kingdom.
Eight categories will be determined by a coefficient calculation and the performance requirements for each category are: Adult – Short Distance (65–250 miles: 5 performances required), Adult – Middle Distance (251–450 miles: 2 performances required), Best All Round Performance by a Single Bird (from any category: 3 performances required, maximum 2 performances from any one category), Best Performance by a Young Bird (from any category: 3 performances required), Intermediate Fancier – Short Distance (65–250 miles: 5 performances required), Intermediate Fancier – Middle Distance (251–450 miles: 2 performances required), Young Fancier – Short Distance (65–250 miles: 5 performances required) and Young Fancier – Middle Distance (251–450 miles: 2 performances required).
Applications can be made via the online forms linked to each category; once the form is completed and submitted a confirmation email will be sent. Alternatively, those who wish to apply by post should complete the application form and send it to RPRA Awards 2026, Unit 35-41, Upper Mills Trading Estate, Stonehouse, Gloucestershire, GL10 2BJ. A form download option is also provided.
The four awards not decided by coefficient calculation will be selected at regional level and then assessed nationally by a jury. The categories to be decided by this jury are: Adult – Long Distance (450 miles and over, with at least 1 performance), Ages 16 to 21 – Long Distance (450 miles and over, with at least 1 performance), Ages 8 to 16 – Long Distance (450 miles and over, with at least 1 performance) and Ages 8 to 21 – Guy Barrett Trophy (a single fancier’s best performance and contributions to the sport).
The final submission deadline is Friday 6 November 2026 at 23:59. We wish all applicants the best of luck; the top pigeons are expected to come to the fore.
