NPO announced that the National Championship results appear on the Compuclub site under the NPO logo; however, no definitive final rankings have been approved yet. Finalization work is ongoing and a ten-day protest/appeal period will be set.
Which races will count for the championships was reported by discipline as follows: Vitesse (short distance) 6, Midfond (middle distance) 5, Dagfond (long distance) 5, Marathon Middag (marathon – midday) 5 and Marathon Ochtend (marathon – morning) 5. A streepvlucht will be applied in all disciplines (i.e. one worst result will be dropped); in the marathon category there is an exception for the Pigeon Championship and the best three results will be counted.
Importantly, it was observed that the current provisional final lists for the Pigeon Championships include all flights; this is incorrect — the streepvlucht rule should also be applied in those lists. In addition, the Zuid-West and Oost sections have filed a complaint about E31 not being counted in place of the canceled E25 race due to weather conditions; a decision from the committee is still pending.
Regarding young birds, no national program was set last season and sections created their own programs. As a condition it was requested that the two final Grand Prix races be among the eight designated races; it was not stated that this would be mandatory for the championships. In the young bird championship two worst results out of eight races will also be dropped; current provisional tables do not reflect this correctly. The race lists sent by the sections are registered with Compuclub and will be processed.
Other technical details: the "Beste liefhebber" (Best Fancier) score consists of the total scores obtained in V-, M-, E-, A- and J- flights and the worst result in an "Oud" (V, M, E or A) category is dropped. "Beste Asduif Oud" (Best Ace Pigeon Oud) is calculated based on the sum of the best 14 flights in V, M, E or A categories. All of this information and the corrections will be processed by Compuclub; once processing is complete the appeal period will be announced.
The disease-related application was also explained: in the event of an avian influenza outbreak, affected fanciers will benefit, in addition to streepvlucht(s), from an average result for one canceled race; there is no compensation for Olympiade and WBP races. Those wishing to use this right must notify the NPO Office at info@duivensportbond.nl by 10 October 2026. Information was also provided about the 2027 flight program and maximum cage/participation numbers (current: 150 old birds, 250 young birds), the related survey, and the correction to fixed leg rings on 2027 invoices; erroneous invoices were identified and corrected by the administrative office and sent to clubs on Thursday, 1 October.
