PE Antwerpen within KBDB announced in a statement dated 21 September 2026 that, as of the 2027 season, small velocity and big velocity races will be held on Saturdays.
The committee stated that this step follows similar decisions taken earlier by other Flemish provinces—as of November 2025—and that the development was considered within its own schedule.
The statement cited as main reasons the desire to preserve interprovincial (between provinces) cooperation, the importance of sustaining interprovincial agreements, and the increased complexity in transport and organization. PE Antwerpen emphasized that spreading races across different days could lead to a fragmentation that becomes difficult to justify in the long term.
The committee said the measure will serve the aim of clarity, practicality and preserving cooperation opportunities beyond provincial borders. The decision was recorded as taking effect from 2027.
The news was made as part of broader organizational assessments within PE Antwerpen's season calendar; it was requested that official announcements via KBDB channels be followed for additional information or questions.
