PE Limburg announced that, pursuant to the notice received from the national administration on 2 September 2026, releases can no longer be held in Chimay and that the committee has decided to replace Chimay with Hirson (France) for the last four weekends of September. Hirson release site: Terrain municipal – chemin du petit moulin; coordinates 495557,0 / 040418,0.
The committee stated that the official release site in Chimay is the track (circuit) and that transporters have long reported this location as unsuitable. Although releases were made at the track earlier this season, a scheduled event on the track at the beginning of July prevented a release; even though an alternative had been requested in time, it was announced three days before that a release would be at the old train station, which was found unsuitable for three to four trucks and could not be used.
The committee requested a release in the industrial area; after prolonged insistence, permission was granted to release in the industrial area for two weeks. However, later one evening this permission was withdrawn and the authorities stated that only the track is the official release site. PE Limburg president Johan De Schouwer's inspection report of the track described the area as "not suitable".
PE Limburg emphasized that, because the Walloon administration did not permit releases in the industrial area, it did not want to release at the track and therefore had to move to Hirson just across the border. It was stated that a new release site will be sought for next season and efforts will be made to obtain permission.
The announcement was communicated by Tony on behalf of PE Limburg and submitted for the attention of clubs, transporters and racers.
