Under the umbrella of Verband Deutscher Brieftaubenzüchter e.V., the Prof. Dr. Kohaus-Förderverein has called for donations for the traditional raffle to be held again this year as part of the Deutsche Brieftauben-Ausstellung (DBA), which will take place concurrently with TaubenMarkt. The event will take place on 28–29 November in Kassel and will welcome visitors to Europe’s largest racing pigeon fair.
One of the weekend programme's key elements is the country's best-known pigeon auction, which will be held on Saturday in the exhibition halls. Interested parties can submit advance bids a few days before the auction at www.brieftauben-auktion.de; the results of these advance bids will be used as the “starting bid” in the on-site auction. The auction will be referred to as “Section 2”; “Section 1” is planned for the international breeders' meeting on Friday evening, 27 November, with the event starting at 18:00 and the auction scheduled for around 21:30.
Another traditional source of income for the Prof. Dr. Kohaus-Förderverein is the long-running raffle. The raffle, which attracts considerable interest from visitors, often sells out of tickets by around midday on both fair days. It is emphasized that many successful and well-known breeders support the raffle by donating prize pigeons and young pigeon coupons.
In past years, raffle proceeds were able to be allocated to various projects supporting the hobby. Therefore the association is asking members and visitors for support so that it can finance similar assistance and projects in the coming period. Board member Martina Gründken, together with her colleagues on the Präsidium (management), has called for donations to the Prof. Dr. Kohaus-Förderverein.
Interested parties are asked to donate one or more racing pigeons or coupons for young pigeons; this will help make the big raffle at the 37. Internationaler TaubenMarkt & DBA a strong focus of attention again and provide income for the association. Donors will be published in Die Brieftaube magazine as in previous years.
